I actually install steel landscape edging as a side of my Fabrication business. Granted Bozeman Montana has a very different climate than NC. I use 1/8" x 4 flat in 20' lengths, cut 16" stakes from #4 rebar and weld every 4'-5' seams are welded and we try to pin to concrete or screw to fence...
Shops not that big. 10.5 will easily run the lights, welder, and grinders. Well is on the house panel. Didn't mean to imply the interlock was a big beast just had never heard of them. Wish I would have done an interlock instead of transfer switch in the house. The ability to run everything at...
I have a Miller Bobcat 250 welder/generator 10,500 watt mounted on my work truck. I have a manual transfer switch and panel for the house plug the cord into the truck throw the switch and run the circuits I want. My shop has it's own 200 amp service with the meter and service disconnect on the...
Anyone have issues with split point bits not staying in there center punch marks? I realize the point is they don't need a center punch but I find I need one for accuracy. thoughts?
Anyone know how to tell the rating of an Autolifters of America lift?? The info on the tag is unreadable. It is a two post with chains and bar over the top. The motor is a 2.6HP Baldor if that means anything. It came out of a diesel shop a few years ago and that owner seems to think it might...
I too have a Miller Bobcat 250 welder Generator 10.5 KW. Mine runs on Gasoline and is truck mounted. I drive the truck down plug it in start the Bobcat and go in and throw the transfer switch. It runs all the needed things well and septic pumps heat lights fridges etc. etc. I run a small...
I made a table for a new fire station. Maple bowling alley (only the first 10'-20' are maple the rest is generally doug fir). Wrapped it with black walnut dovetailed at the corners. Replaced the inlays with black walnut and mounted it on an I Beam and square tube base powdercoated in a...
I use five gallon containers that previously held fire fighting foam. They are sealed except for a nice screw on cap and they have a sweet handle on top. Very heavy duty. I would bet your local FD would rather give them to you then throw them out or recycle them. Might be worth a call. TB
A large portion of my welding business has become landscape edging. We use 1/8" x 4" flat (it's available from 1" up to 12" in 1" increments). Weld the seams and weld on rebar stakes about every 5 feet. I'm not familiar with the siding product your using but maybe you could just drill holes...
I have what I've been calling a Pole Barn Hybrid! it's 28x30with 12' walls. was originally supposed to be all pole ban but during excavation we hit solid rock in the back. We doweled and poured a four foot wall with wing's on the rock. the front 3/4's has regular 6x6 posts in the ground in...
