Thank you both. It's certainly helpful to have a supportive partner. She'd let me buy any tool I wanted, without even having to ask. She also likes to get in on projects when possible. Even at 9 months pregnant she did all the pocket holes in 9 drawers I'm currently building. :thumbup:
Yeah that end grain split out you got is perpetuated by the actual Kreg Jig setup for 1/2" ply too, because the screw doesn't exit the board in the middle of the thickness like it's intended to. You may have been able to pull that off with thicker stock.

Saskatchewan, Canada. 24x24 detached w/9' ceiling. Heating with 45k Reznor. Temperature outside currently -16c (~3F) feels like -26c (~-15F), garage set to 5c (41F).

Made a couple small (but major) steps since my last post. I finally did the last of the ceiling **** I needed to do before insulation could go in. I hung my final fluorescent light, which then allowed me to install my ceiling speaker enclosures, which then allowed me to re-install my attic...
I do feel for those of you in Eastern Canada and the U.S. that are not used to these amounts of snow.... however, it's just another Wednesday for us in Saskatchewan. haha
