Earlier today I picked up a old Black and Decker wildcat 9" grinder. It was pretty dirty so I cleaned it up. Reading the info tag and it has 120v dc for input, no mention about AC. Question is, will it be fine to run on AC?
I saw this box for sale, guy says it an extreme tools but, I haven't ever seen an extreme box with three full width drawers, also 24" deep. Anyone know?
What shielding gas are you using? If you're using 100% I would get a flow meter with the aluminum fins on it to prevent freezing up. I'm don't know what your welding needs are or if you'd be welding enough freeze a flowmeter but I do know grinding porosity out ***** and you may upgrade your...
I wonder if the OP has used a smith combination torch before? When I was younger I always thought they were the awesomest torch ever till I started doing a ton of hand burning and my hand would constantly hit the preheat ox valve. Just another thing to consider.
Medium duty smith is only a half in or so shorter than the heavy duty. Now, the light duty AC smith is pretty cute and cuddly when it comes to size but, it uses smaller size hose which I'm pretty sure requires adaptor sat the regulators.
The one big reason to get the heavy duty SC series over the medium duty MC series is replaceable hose connections, it's so much easier to replace a connector than try to straighten or clean up threads. Also, stay away from the discontinued dual guard DG series, the in head flashback arrestors...
I offered him $2600, said its all I could afford right now, he countered with $2900. No thanks. I found a krl1022 for $2500 and a triple bay for $3500.
I wouldn't be so sure of that, some of the worst steel I've ever used came from India. What was supposed to be a 3/4" plate was really two 3/8" plates laminated together. Tons of fun trying to cut that.
I'm gonna go look at it. If it turns out to be **** I loose a couple hours of my time, oh well. Anyone know how to pull the drawers out? Are the slides like the new boxes with the latch on each side or do you need a special tool like the old friction slides?
