I'm curious about them as well. Would fuel consumption noticeably decrease if a generator this size had a lighter load? The example of 2-3 gallons per hour was used above. I'm considering one as well, but am unsure of the size. Whole house is nice if I ever had the need, but with a larger unit...

I would think the orignal 2x8 joists would be undersized compared to the new.

So let's say the joists are ready to get leveled, what's one to fasten to at the beams?

Once the situation is under control, that's my plan. A steel beam across the mid section with 2 jacks.

NAPA typically has a filter sale around this time of year. My local store advertises with a small sign on the door. Farm filter sale or something like that. They're usually around 50-60% off.

Do you have an existing tank you can tap into? 100 lbs isn't very much and could be a hassle since you're wanting constant heat. I am not sure on the smaller stuff, but in my area, the big tanks are on back order until February/ March. $1000 for 500 gallons.
