Anthony666, I was choosing the lex because it has a higher heat transfer rate. I do not want any issues, I'll go with the cheaper pex.
Randy, the heat pump idea sounds good. I still think I would be better served with a propane tankless boiler or tankless water heater.
That's worth looking into. Thus year we have had a bunch of 0F and negative nights. The heat pump has been running more heated defrost cycles. In a few more years I'll upgrade to the current unit of the time.
That's cool, same concept as a geothermal heat pump. I use a air to air best pump to heat my house now. I usually do very well, Although it's been a cold winter.
We only have lp or oil available in my area. We often get some negative degree days but not all winter.
I spoke with the steel building manufacturer that I am going with. The 3" of insulation comes to an r11. They offer a 6" (r17) as well, but I guess that it rolls over the frame and the...
I understand there are many factors to consider. I am located in the east coast (pa), the building I want to build is a 40x50x12 (17' max ceiling) with 3" of insulation all around.
I wasn't trying to get an exact cost number, just trying to see how others do with their setup and building size...
Group, I am in the planning process of my 40x50 steel garage. I just closed on a piece of property for the build. I am planning to install radiant floor piping, 2" of insulation and use pex-al tubing. There is no natural gas in my neighborhood so I am stuck with propane or oil. I know some...
There are a lot of great setups in this thread. What is the operating costs for some of these setups? I know everyone runs on different fuel types. This has been a cold winter.
