DKMC - you were right on target. I had to clear the bottom of the intake tube but once I did that it worked great. Now I'm dangerous and looking for things that "need" sandblasting.

I'll have another look at those, my working assumption is that drawers are too shallow for chucks and the weight of the chucks would limit the number I could get in the one or two drawers that may be deep enough. Thanks for the suggestion

Hammerscale Technologies can straighten spindles/quills but I'm not sure about chucks, its worth an e-mail I'd suggest.
