Nice idea! Did you glue in the rods or just friction-fit with the "spring" of the "U"?

Keeps tooling neat and readily at hand. You may want to keep an eye on the underside of the holders where they sit in contact with the oak. I've read, but can't confirm, that steel in contact with oak will exhibit corrosion/oxidation. Looks nice.

OK sounds good, has been fully coated with polyurethane, also all my machinery is in a 8 x40 container and I keep a dehumidifier running, when it was not running things will rust, I'm in Long Island

Sparkness, that is an awesome solution! I was looking for some options for my AXA holders earlier today and found this, https://holdfasttools.myshopify.com/products/lathe-tooling-rack-tcr-series
its really neat bit would take up a lot of bench space which I don't have, I'll be copying your idea.
Thank you!

thanks, just measure between your Vees of the tool holder and make your dies to allow for spring back. I used my cnc router to make all the holes and my cad software to figure spacing for my tools, I should have made it longer, as I filled it up quick. Import tool holders are not too expensive and I Hate changing tools!
