    Canada Only Deals!

Fluke multimeters seem to be on clearance at my local Rona. I’m not in the market as I have a few, but it’s a good deal for anyone who is. A 117 is on for $251 which is a little over $100 off. There are about half a dozen models. Online pricing aligns on some, but not all.

3/4"-1" tubing bender, thoughts or ideas ?

If you’re just looking to make a couple of bends, and don’t plan on doing more in the future, there are some work arounds. As mentioned above, tube packed with dry sand, the Harbor Freight pipe bender or combination of the two work. There is a motorcycle builder on YouTube (46Works) that has...

    Filling Large Gap in Plastic

That looks like it would work too but unfortunately it looks like it isn’t compatible with polypropylene which is what I have.

    Filling Large Gap in Plastic

Thanks, that looks likes a reasonably priced option. I think that’s what I am after. I was thinking I would use some stainless wire that I have kicking around to affix the two parts and form a skeleton by melting an end into each piece.

    Filling Large Gap in Plastic

That was the original plan. Figured I would look into a low cost option to fix these if there was one. Wrecker had one car, but the headlights were trash. A new set off RockAuto isn’t ridiculous though.

    Filling Large Gap in Plastic

I’ll preface this by saying I have never worked with plastics. I know a little bit about different types and whatever else, but not my wheel house. I have 2001 VW Jetta that someone retrofit some HID projectors into at some point in the past. I was never really thrilled with the job they did on...

    Paul Brodie YouTube

The first video of his that I found was motorcycle related so it took me a while to put two and two together and realize that he was behind Brodie bicycles. I really appreciate his attention to detail. I’ve found that it doesn’t really matter what he is making, there are enough general...

    Paul Brodie YouTube

I don’t want this to seem spammy but I stumbled across Paul Brodie’s YouTube channel and I want to share it. Most of his stuff seems to be cycle centric. Some bicycles, some motorcycles but lots of good general fab and manual machining. He has some good brazing videos too. He’s kind of a...

What is the best way to add a sheet metal skin to a frame

Try drilling some holes through the sheet metal around the perimeter and then plug welding it to the frame.

    Fusing Aluminum to Bronze

I actually found a pretty good thread outlining exactly what I need to do in this scenario. https://cx500forum.com/forum/general-discussion/7662-float-bowl-overflow-tube-raplacement.html#/topics/7662 I have all the tools he used so I’ll pick up some brass today and give it a go. I was worried...

    Fusing Aluminum to Bronze

I have a carb off of a Yamaha Grizzly 600 that I need to repair. The float bowl over flow tube (1/8” brass) broke off of the float bowl (aluminum) when it was accidentally dropped. I would like repair it but I’m not sure how to go about sealing it. I thought about taping the float bowl and...

    A Basic Welding Table

Great idea. I'll do that before it gets slid into position. That's something I'd think of AFTER I dragged it across the floor haha.
