Thanks notlob, I have not see those old ads yet, I wonder if there is a difference between the 44 and D44 and when that came about. It looks like the 1937 ad shows the 44 with removable pipe jaws but it also has the drive screw exposed. The weight of 28 lbs shown in the ad is only over by one...
