The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

For anyone interested, there’s a very similar Utica/Bonney branded one here: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/utica-bonney-tool-box.153725/

@Bob-B My dad has an old Park I need to dig out. I thinks it’s similar to the one @Beerhippie posted.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Picked up a hand full of NOS boxes from the 70s and 80s last weekend. Honestly a bit more modern than I prefer but I couldn’t pass on them. I have the 1950s version of the SK and it’s probably my favorite box. I can’t find any info on the Utica box other than it was potentially made by Park...

I rarely buy Taiwan tools but the situations where I wish I had the Astros keep coming. Also didn’t have 17 and 18mm box end ratchets so grabbed these cheapos for now along with a 42mm socket for an upcoming job.

Finally got around to getting full sets of ball-end allens. Some trim removal tools and a Koken 3/8” spinner handle. Aesthetically I hate the handle on the Koken spinner, but damn it’s comfy and grippy.

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

I have three wright recips and one traditional bar one. No Solos unfortunately. Some of the big names are tough to find in the northeast because the lumber and pulp industries were so small (comparatively) out here in the 50s. Years ago I started a vintage chainsaw thread on here. I might...

Yeah like most of us, I’m a hoarder. I can’t pass this stuff up when it pops up for cheap. I don’t think I’ve paid more than $10 for any of those. Most were well south of that.

Construction cost sanity check: western mass

That’s nuts. I’m near Keene NH and a few years ago (pre massive inflation) I was getting quotes for a 30x40 barn with a 12 pitch roof and rafters not trusses for $70-100k. That didn’t include electrical or concrete and bare walls inside. I’d definitely get some bids. Also a Morton building is...

Ordered yesterday afternoon from Zoro and they showed up 24 hrs later. Klein screwdrivers, 3/8 - 1-1/4 Proto shallow impacts, and a Proto 3/8 compact ratchet (shown next to a 1/4” Craftsman for comparison).
