I've got this old ratchet wrench which looks like aluminum.
I was convinced it was aluminum.
But it's not.
I tried a magnet on it the other day and it was strongly magnetic.
That rules out aluminum.
I found it in a box of old tools which I'd had for years, and all had some amount of rust, but...
I found this tiny hammer in a box of bits.
I assume it's a jewellers hammer but it seems too light even for that.
Maybe an apprentice piece?
Size is just under 5 inches
Weight is 0.7 ounce or 20 gms.
None of it is magnetised
Just checked again and the very end of the tip IS magnetised.
The brass sheathing is preventing anything, tacks etc, sticking to the side of the point.
I assume this is a jewellers hammer but I can't find anything similar or the internet.
It's 4 inches long and weighs 2 ounces.
The "nose" is covered in brass.
Found this Bemis & Call Railroad Hammer Wrench when I was sorting out some of my old stuff.
You can just make out ***IS & CALL and some number on one side. The other side is a bit easier to read.
