    Future Lathe and Mill locations?

Ah, maintenance, duh! Of course I need to insure I can access all around the machines. I'll keep that in mind, thank you!

    Future Lathe and Mill locations?

For someone new to mills and lathes, generally speaking would them being next to one another on a single wall introduce issues? Should I be looking to have extra room around a lathe or mill? I've seen, for example, some lathes (all?) let you run stock through the jaws and out the side of the...

Running lots of wires in a wall, what things should I be looking out for?

I'll see what's behind the wall then go from there. I'm making an assumption that the wiring as it exists is run horizontally - but it may be run up to the ceiling and dropped (or from underneath) - I want to try to stick with the existing wiring run-types if possible.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got my *** handed to me, mostly. Working on getting the other pair of 8' LEDs up in the motorcycle workshop area, only to find out I don't have the right crossbars. Run out and check HD, Lowe's, and Ace, HD is the only one with some, only for me to find out the bolt spacing on these don't...

Running lots of wires in a wall, what things should I be looking out for?

Got my permit yesterday! Today I started measuring just how deep the stud bay is. Simply drilled a hole in the drywall, inserted screwdriver through the insulation until I tapped the inner wall, marked and measured. 4.5" depth minus 0.5" of drywall makes for an actually 4" deep wall? I'm...

HF 5 drawer mechanic's cart differences?

I'm on hold with HF Parts to get 2 more swivel casters to get rid of the fixed casters on my 5 drawer HF mechanic's cart. I found out there's apparently 3 part numbers, and the parts are apparently different on them? 64030 / 64032 / 64033. I've got the 64030 - but now I'm wondering what the...

    Show off your GearWrench tools!

Hold up - I've got piles of Gearwrench, and thought they were all Taiwan made? How can I tell which Gearwrench stuff is made in China?

Fence Project- The Neigbors Think I’m Nuts

If it's in my neighborhood, it's because we're only allowed 6' white vinyl or 4' barred aluminum. Wasn't super happy about that, but HOA rules. 🤨

How much time do you spend looking for USA made tools?

I don't spend any time considering country of origin. I spend a pile of time considering quality. I've got Bondhus, Wiha, and a pile of stuff from the days when I couldn't be picky about quality. I'm slowly getting nicer tools, but I really don't care where it was made - global economy and...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got my 3D printer back up, finally! Printed a remote holder for the workshop TV, and printing a pile of bin holders for the HF storehouse 40 bin organizer. Gonna take a while for them all, lol

Wow, ok, so apparently my pics aren't uploading on mobile? Let me resize them - here's what I did yesterday on the HF 5 drawer cart...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

More work on the HF 5 drawer - used speed tape to hold the rubber mats in place, started figuring out how I want the wrench holders to work.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

More prep for the HF 5 Drawer! Got the upper bump guards notched for the side tray, mounted them, and got the rubber for the top cut out. I'll get the mounting tape together tomorrow to permanently attach the top rubber mats.

Is another retailer going to drop a battery tool line?

Agreed. And, as someone that owns damn near the full Ridgid 18v line, I'm tired of waiting. I've started investing into the M12 line, and fully intend to go M18 if I don't see anything new by Ridgid. Specifically, I'd like a 3/8" ratchet. A right angle drill. A cordless 10" table saw. That...
