How to bond ground to metal building frame?

Here are some pics of the panel. I haven't relocated that ground wire yet in these. I'm about to do that now.

How to bond ground to metal building frame?

Interesting, he didn't say anything about not having the panel grounded but still passed me. Maybe because the panel is bolted to superstrut that's bolted to the steel frame? Either way I'll relocate the ground wire from the rod to the panel. Would that mechanical lug I linked be what I need...

How to bond ground to metal building frame?

I just had my rough electrical inspection and the inspector said I needed to change the way my ground is bonded. I currently have a separate #6 Cu coming from the 2-8ft driven rods to one of the anchor bolts for the building frame, along with the #6 going from the rods to the panel . No UFER. He...

Need help deciphering an old conduit bender...

The 3/4 bender is a Rigid brand, and is even worse if that's possible. There are no degree marks of any kind, anywhere on the head, just the arrow and saddle marks. I only have one run of 3/4 to do, so hopefully I can just wing it. Speaking of winging it...I gave the other bender another go and...

Need help deciphering an old conduit bender...

I appreciate all the input guys. I tried doing that with a sharpie and protractor but couldn't get anything that seemed right. That may have been the COVID though, since I got a positive test the next morning . I might give it another go this weekend when I'm out of quarantine, but...

Need help deciphering an old conduit bender...

The first one is the one I have, an older Greenlee Site-Rite No. 840. The second is a just a clip from the Benfield book for reference. The only marks on the other side are the makers marks, and the arrow:

Need help deciphering an old conduit bender...

I have a PDF of the Benfield book that has helped a lot, along with a couple ther books I've found and of course youtube. That works great when bending on the floor. With the head in the air though, I can't figure out how to gauge the angle of the bend. Maybe it has something to do with that...

Need help deciphering an old conduit bender...

I'm getting ready to start running conduit in my shop, and was given a couple of conduit benders for 1/2" & 3/4" EMT. The 1/2" bender is an older Site-Rite 840, just like the one pictured here, but for the life of me I can't figure out how the read the dang thing for offset bends in the air...

    Electrical Routing in Metal Garage

I'm currently doing the exact same thing, except I have no plans of ever framing in the walls. I second the unistrut idea. My panel is mounted to two pieces of 14ga unistrut that are screwed to the building legs. I'll be mounting all my boxes to the legs as well and running emt throughout.

    Detached Garage Power Planning

So far I've bought the panel, ground rods, ground bus, disconnect for the compressor & all the interior lights. I'm getting ready to order all my wire. For lighting I've got 12 of the Barrina 4ft "T8" LED lights and I'm going to put 3 lights on every other building frame. I want to have the...

    Detached Garage Power Planning

Thanks for the replies. As for the conduit, he has couplers for HDPE to PVC that they use. He just said they could do it, but I wasn't sure if it was allowable by code. For the feederr, if I went with #1 AL, I could go with 3x #1 & a #2 ground correct? That's looking like a better deal at...

    Detached Garage Power Planning

Construction just completed on my new 24 x 30 building, and I'm starting to think about the electrical. Due to budget constraints the electrical couldn't be completed at the same time, and will have to be added a few months down the road. I've been doing A LOT of reading, on this forum and...

Mr Cool vs Blueridge 36k minisplit

I haven't seen the Blueridge brand, but I installed a 24k Mr. Cool system in my F-I-L's trailer last summer. It was the DIY kit that doesn't need to have the lines vacuumed. It was super easy to install and has worked great so far. Oh, and we used vinyl downspout pieces to make a chase for the...

Low Cost Sealing Options for New Concrete

I really like the sound of the TS210. That seems like a more durable system for what I'm doing. Here's a boneheaded question... The TS210 (and 8510 for that matter) requires 2 coats. Is the stated coverage area per coat? Or for 2 coats over that stated area? IE: 800 SF per gallon of TS210...

Low Cost Sealing Options for New Concrete

General wood working, light auto repair, some welding...just hobby stuff, not a full working shop. I won't have any drywall or paint at this point. Just the metal building shell but I might eventually finish the interior down the road.
