That's not a bad idea. I don't mind doing something like this from Home Depot where returns are easy but I guess McMaster Carr will take returns just the same. Just a little more effort on my part.
I just purchased a used Powermatic 719A mortiser in excellent condition except the gas strut powering the manual handle is 'out of gas'.
The OEM replacement part is about $146. I found an equivalent size strut on McMaster Carr for $22 plus shipping. What I don't know is what extension force...
The ignitor continues to stay active for the full 16 seconds (per spec) after the gas lights in a few seconds. Apparently the unit is not sensing the flame and shuts down the gas flow after 16 seconds as well.

Just installed a new Reznor UDAS45. Converted from NatGas to LP. Checked supply pressure and at 11.2 W.C. Checked outlet pressure and it reads 9.5 during start up.
The ignition seems to stay on a long time. It lights but will not stay lit. Outlet pressure drops to zero.
Anybody got ideas?

Yes I believe so... I discovered the gold brazing when I sandblasted it black paint. Was a little surprised but since it was a freebie from a garage sale that I got 30 years ago I'm not complaining. Works great!
Pardon me if you saw this post on my specific thread on jaws but thought I better close the loop here.
Well it finally happened... Here is my restored Rock Island #594 vise... I used Rustoleum Hammered Rosemary spray paint. Pretty happy on how it turned out. I had one of my guys at my work make...
