Question regarding cracks in new drywall

To me it doesn't look like the drywall sheets were staggered (IMO a pretty hacky thing for a good carpenter), and the crack is not very wide or deep on the wall. The crack on the ceiling is deeper and wider. I was told the ceiling crack might be from the heavier 5/8" sheets settling or maybe...

Question regarding cracks in new drywall

Live in NEO. Just finished the inside of the garage this past July. 1/2" on walls, 5/8" on ceiling. Early October noticed a crack in the finished ceiling, from front to back of garage, 23'. Yesterday noticed a crack in the back wall, from top to bottom. Both cracks straight as an arrow and...

    gearwall installation costs...

I agree, unless you're hiring a friend or acquaintance no need to pay more than 20-25/hr, and it shouldn't take more than a handful of hours. Heck if you lived close to me I'd do it for cheap, and some drinks & lunch.

    Recommended Outdoor Sheds?

I bought a Rubbermaid shed from Home Depot a few years ago. Forget the size, 8*4 maybe, fairly small, roughly $400. It was fine, held up to NEO winters, no leaks, maybe minor water seepage from heavy rain. IMO as long as you put these things up right the first time, and don't mess with them...

    Sandblasting throttle body ???

If you're sandblasting a throttle body I'd assume it's only for appearance, b/c there is a chance you won't be doing anything else with it other than looking at it once your done. There are other ways to clean up an engine part that is so vital to proper performance.

    Gladiator stuff...

mtwaterguy, it doesn't look like you used any of the gearwall/track when hanging your cabinets? I just got back from a local Sears Outlet store, they had 1 5 drawer gear chest, retial $499, it had some damage on one side of the outer shell (that had no effect on the use of drawers) and they...

    Gladiator stuff...

Appreciate the links Kevin, and that approach sounds interesting, however my only problem with Gladiator is the cost, not the design or functionality. Frankly I love their design and use of space to recapture need floor space, which is what I want to do, just that the cabinets made for their...

    Gladiator stuff...

Just got back my from local Lowes, complete rip off. $200 for the top selling RTA wall cabinet. 2-3 clearance items, basically just hooks and brackets. Question for those of you with this stuff, do all the cabinets that hang on the walls/tracks attach with the Gladiator brackets? B/C I'm now...

    Gladiator stuff...

Is it worth it? The stuff is so damned expensive, I know it is not junk but it isn't anything special either (in terms of materials and workmanship). I mean credit their marketing team I suppose b/c they seem to live off the whole diamond plate look. IMO every single piece they have is 25-30%...

Jaguar - not just good for suspensions

Neat idea. Tough to do with old American muscle car designs as most didn't have a one piece hood and front header assembly.

    Mechanics tool sets

I will admit I just opened everything up and used a couple of each and you can feel the "lack" of quality in them, but no HD uses intended so they should be OK.

    Storage for odd shaped items

My only suggestion would be use space above your head as much as possible, they make some nice products for doing just that. Also the back of any man doors, depending on the type of doot.
