    Tools from the old world

They do, it‘s under the same part number of but with a b at the end : 418B Yeah, the TSB Aachen price was low enough I couldn‘t resist as I was also picking up a couple other things. So „SW“ in German is generally shorthand for denoting hex sizing, so SW five, means 5mm flat to flat hex...

    Tools from the old world

It definitely is "single point of contact" and I could imagine the play increasing over time. They have the mini ones now. This came in a tiny little set with a couple sockets and some bits and I'm kind of a sucker for stahlwille. No it doesn't, which I've also used to solve the "apply...

    Tools from the old world

So I quickly google'd the victorinox one because the amazon image doesn't really show it, and the first image was a picture of the wera, topeak, and victorinox bit ratchets. Clearly the goog knows what it's doing. Video review here, but I haven't watched it.

I definitely agree the design is identical, but it could be produced at two different manufacturers. The plastic appears to be a different material, not just finished differently, and I wouldn't expect that coming from the same factory, unless the material choice is linked to the pass through...

I know all the ratchets are for sure, but I thought sockets were Czech, but I guess that makes sense in this case as the sockets are very similar from Toptul/USAG/Facom etc.

Some other wins in the "made in europe" category. I know these have been talked about a lot, but for 11euro, they are top notch. The bit ratchet set from Wera is pretty nice. Sockets and bits are Czech made IIRC, while the ratchets are both Taiwan. As you can tell, I've made some additions...

4 electronics side cutters - short review

A couple updated pictures with a camera instead of a phone. Of particular note are some better pictures of the schmitz showing what I was talking about:

It really seems like Toptul has a version of almost everything coming out of taiwan. Similarly, they have the "rotating handle" ratchet, (I purchased from BGS for 17 Euro off amazon)

    Tools from the old world

I posted a thread with some more detailed analysis here https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7874394#post7874394 Long story short, I think I like the knipex and the Tsunoda ones the best. I'll take some new pictures that are a bit clearer and post them in that thread as well.

4 electronics side cutters - short review

I have to wonder if I missed one fact that might be relevant. The Schmitz cutters are ESD compliant, which is maybe why they are the cost they are. I was actually surpised as I don't see that many dipped ESD compliant tools. As reference, the prices ranged from the ~8 euro +/- 20 percent for...

    Tools from the old world

I made the post here https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7874394#post7874394 And addressed some of the questions. I'm thrown off by the imgur thing because even when I use the https, I can still see them in my own post. Are they showing up normal sized or huge for you...

4 electronics side cutters - short review

As I mentioned in the "old world' Thread, I wanted to add a bit more of a review. So I'll first post the first pictures then get into the content : link to the album directly https://imgur.com/a/ZbLc0LS Part Numbers: Knipex (DE) 78 91 125 Schmitz (DE) 1232EP02 Piergiacomi (I) TR5000PR...

    Tools from the old world

So I've finally received all of them and had a chance to do a quick overview. I'll do a slightly more in depth review in a separate thread, but here are some pictures. Part Numbers: Knipex (DE) 78 91 125 Schmitz (DE) 1232EP02 Piergiacomi (I) TR5000PR Tsunoda (Jp) PM-120 18G I wanted to...

    Tools from the old world

I just picked up a variety of electronics snips/side cutters to evaluate as I plan on buying a larger selection. I wish I could pick up a pair of those schmitz rebrands. I have a knipex, schmitz, piergiacomi, and tsunoda heading my way right now and I'll be sure to provide some feedback on them...

    Best precision screwdrivers?

Depends a lot on how you use them. I really like the "master" wiha set i have, but specifically because I prefer the 1 finger on the spinning cap and thumb and middle finger to drive the screwdriver grip. Others have talked about placing the palm on the cap, and I would find that less...
