I don't think adding insulation to the bottom of the roof is going to give you the results you are looking for. Heat is still going to rise, and insulating the roof more will just mean it will stay warmer up at roof height. As others have stated, your best bet is to decrease the total volume...

How are the 2x6's attached to the beam? It looks like they are just nailed to the side of the blocking between them... I can't imagine this meets code.
