    Are these hurricane ties?

Anyone know what these are for? Everyone is getting off track on the rafter stuff so I got more pictures without the odd framing. This is not my house but new construction I see in every house in NC.

    Need help with motor wiring

This 120v motor can rotated in either direction via a rotary drum switch but unfortunately is not with the machine anymore. I'm getting old and can't decipher what this motor plate is telling me. Can someone please explain on how to connect the wires?

Building a Pump house shed for a Well?

Build it with a shed roof with metal. Make the last piece over the well head so you can just remove that piece if you ever need to pull the pump (through the roof).

Windows in Overhead Door, Yes or No?

All positive EXCEPT for one. If you work at night and thus would have lots of lights in there you might want to reconsider. Mine lights up my 4 acres lot like an NFL stadium. Wish I didn't do windows for this very reason.

Drilling out Harbor Freight HVLP gun to spray latex paint

You have to increase pressure or it won't atomize the paint. It's not really HVLP anymore but overspray is not that bad.

Drilling out Harbor Freight HVLP gun to spray latex paint

Just the nozzle, the part where the needle pierces through. You want to go as big as you can for latex. Oil base stuff you can get away with murder but not latex in a conversion gun.

Drilling out Harbor Freight HVLP gun to spray latex paint

You can go up to a max of 3mm, anymore and it won't seal. I did 3mm since I had a metric set and spraying latex. Still have to thin it a lot but sure beats brushing and rolling.

    4X6 Bandsaw Blades

Back in the days when I had a 4x6, I noticed the thicker blades did not last very long. Upon inspection of the broken blade I found tons of cracks on the blades from the tight radius of the machine. Went with thinner and never had a problem after that with premature broken blades.

    What's the verdict on Windows?

Put in smaller windows up high near the ceiling about a foot down. It won't get in the way much and no one is looking in unless they are 8ft tall. I did my own build so it was cheap, less than $100 each. $1500 for 2 I might have to re-think because of cost but the natural light is really...

Thoughts on how this water is coming under garage sill?

His house wrap is cut so it appears to be under the bottom layer but it is not if you look at the pictures more closely. The water is coming from somewhere above the sill and pooling at the bottom because you trapped it with the sealant. You generally want water to be able to leave at the...
