    Phone/Ethernet jacks

Well, I do transfer large video files over my network. GoPro 4K footage is h265, some of the lower res is too but even with 1080p/h264 it’s easy to fill up 4 or 5 128GB cards over a single weekend out then download to my computers 2TB drive. When it’s full I eventually need to transfer over 1TB...

    Phone/Ethernet jacks

Cat5e vs Cat6... when it comes to pulling it, terminating, and testing it it’s just not wort it to pull the cheaper stuff . A box of 1000’ Cat6a shielded cable is just so inexpensive these days. $220. I would throw the Cat5 away or just use it for patch cords. Yes you may not get Gig level...

    Splicing to NASA Standards

All well and good, but what "everyman" can afford the set of crimpers NASA and NASCAR are using these days to make those crimps much less the (likely) wire itself as its very probably a special beast in itself? ;)

    Phone/Ethernet jacks

As mentioned before, never put switches, modems or routers in a attic or garage. You want air conditioned space and airflow. A closet is fine but put a louver high up on the door and leave some breathing space around the equipment. A Central Location is important, because likely one of your...

    New Snap-on

I think a lot of people feel burned by Craftsman. People buy it for decades, knowing its just a trip to Sears. Sears starts cheaping on the build quality, off-shoring the bulk of it.. tools and other things and eventually they close their doors leaving millions high and dry. Sure they may be...

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

Yes green lizard, sadly I might have to resign myself that it’s not likely to repeat. I may have peaked too early. That 5 cents on the buck that my compressor cost is a rare thing.. but I’ll still take the deals that get me the good stuff less than 50% of retail if it fills a gap in my box all...

    Soldering iron brands

Understand that, also realize the Happo 951 is more than twice the price of the 888, approaching a used MetCal at that point. :)

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

You’d think so.... but I might just surprise you. ;) Still swinging: picked up 4 rails of Snap On sockets a few weeks ago and a swivel including hte organizers. $150, retail is about $1.1K. Missing a few (spaces for a few not normally part of the sets too) but a pretty good deal. Who knows...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Decided to add a couple of Snap-on Techangle Torque Wrenches to my 1/2” & 3/8 clicker wrenches. Only went for the 1/4” but wound up with a 3/8 as well. $ was about 50% of retail. Mint condition. Now time for a morning ride: Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

I looked at the specs on the side of the motor, it showed the dual wiring if I wanted to rewire it for 240 use. Currently its running off 120V. Not sure if its a 20A or 30A. Wiring diagram on side of motor didn’t list either just the voltage. Never had it trip the 20A breaker across several...

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

Fixed the air leak... <.5 psi over 24 hrs. . Over 4 days maybe 1-2 psi difference. Pretty sure most is just ambient temp as it seems to be holding and I can't find any more leaks. Stedlin couplers came in, 316 SS drain valve also (with a lever that should actually be usable). Waiting on Amazon...

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

Verified the drain valve DOES operate (even though it looks like its plugged). Just have to use a pair of pliers, have the hands of a child, and be willing to crawl around on the floor to properly open it. :( I added some stainless nuts and bolts here and there. Even shimmed the axles to take...

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

It is a plug. ??? As per rpms I also think it is the slower of the 2 specs for the Schulz MSL 15 Max Compressor. Sleegers sent me the technical data on it. There's 2 configurations for that compressor, 13 vs 8 cfm displacement, one at 1250 rpm and the other at 750. As far as noise I'm sure that...

    Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30vp

Re: Snap-On 30 Gal Air Compressor BRADV30VP Been way down the Adjustable Regulator hole today...I either go hose mounted or I find something that will go where the missing one is. But would prefer to actually be upgrading to a superior part that what came stock. Zinc plated, but what? Brass...
