Re: garage refurb I believe the black handle you speak of raises a tab so that you can clamp a sheet on the surface if you have another vise on the opposite side of the table.

USPS delivery confirmation shows my recipient received the package on 12/17 in Phoenix AZ. No word on here yet. To my SS, I am out of town so don't worry that I haven't indicated receipt yet, unfortunately won't be home until the 29th.

If I cant get them off with a wrench after some heat and cool cycles I take my ph3050 snappy air hammer and chisel into the corners of the nut, it breakes them loose and spins them off. Slap on new ones and good to go.

Might as well take it off and see what you have. A flat peice of 3/8" plate with 2 holes and some black RTV will fix you right up.

Love my Bosch. Left it out in all sorts of weather and still doesn't miss a beat.
