    Snap on LN46ACF question

Well, the new one came in. Same appearance! It has exceptionally minor differences than the original…the new ones have slightly narrower tips and the nut grabbing teeth are slightly beveled on one jaw. Those same teeth have rounded valleys in the serration too. I say these not to complain but in...

    Snap on LN46ACF question

That’s the stuff I’m trying to learn. I did end up asking snap-on…not trying to get a refund or anything…just asked it this was normal or designed that way. She replied asking for my info to send a replacement. I didn’t even ask for one or say I was upset, lol. Just asked if it was supposed to...

The last 1/2” of the tips are machined differently. Most notably at the smooth part between the very tips and where the grip gets more aggressive. The flat part also has a “shelf” where I’m guessing the grip should be

Well, I think I’m more inclined to keep them but I did ask the question to SO to see what they have to say. FWIW, the 9” ones look and feel great.

That’s some good advice and perspective, thank you. I’m referring to the “step” on the smooth grip surface and the grip pattern at the tips going down the tip further on one. The slight tip alignment isn’t a problem for the reasons you said They don’t have them. I also find the Icon hype is...

lol, if HF made the equivalent, I would at least compare it. There’s been many times these would have made things easier so was ok with the SO price. Great insight, thanks. I can’t focus on anything less than an arm length away and I noticed this pretty quickly. I’m asking if it’s unusual. I...

    Snap on LN46ACF question

Hello, I recently received my first snap-on tools…the 7 and 9” long nose slip joint pliers, ordered from their site. Upon inspection I noticed inconsistencies between the jaws of the 7” near the tip. Before I ask SO CS, I wanted to see if there is a reason for this because when I google images...

Specific 1/4 USA craftsman deep socket singles

Hi! I want to match my deep sets to my standard sets. I need 1/4”drive 6pt DEEP sockets in: 5.5mm 14mm 5/32 9/16 eBay has them, but cheapest is almost $40 for these four. I’d like to see if a member has too many and will spare some for a better price before I attempt to dig through buckets at a...

    Ratchet Recommendations. New or Old?

I’ll have to check that out. I have a long rigid angle iron piece I heave and clamp on my plywood to make straight cuts. It works! But it’s cumbersome. My first indulgence that sparred a tool overhaul was a dewalt 12” double bevel compound miter saw. I love that thing. I build very basic things...

    Ratchet Recommendations. New or Old?

I agree about the enjoyable part! I’ve slowly been replacing things and the joy of using good tools makes me wonder why I was letting myself struggle with worn tools for so long lol.

    Ratchet Recommendations. New or Old?

That’s fair. I didn’t look into their ethics. These are the same as the Eascos I was looking at. The price for these was a little high compared to new…at least on eBay. Can’t find any local. I use F80s at work. I think they’re decent. For me I don’t think it’s worth the cost.

    Ratchet Recommendations. New or Old?

I kinda think you nailed it. After watching a couple of those videos, I can’t justify 2-3x cost for something getting beaten by GW in almost all regards. So far, gearwrench seems to be the way. I’ll have to compromise on a preference or two, but that’s ok. I may start with a long handle...

    Ratchet Recommendations. New or Old?

First post! Hello, at home I’ve been using cman 36t raised panels and other cheapies I stumbled on for as long as I’ve had tools. I got used to them, but I’m looking for something better. I am not on a tool truck budget, but may spend more if it’s worth it. Below is what I’m after…curious how...
