    PEX size for slab

yeldogt, that information is helpful. I will have R17.5 on the side of the slab and R10 underneath. I also thought the less loops and wider spacing might not be what I want (albeit larger tubing). I was planning 8 300' loops of 1/2 originally.

    PEX size for slab

I have a 40x60 pole barn that I am doing a slab in this summer. I plan on doing a radiant setup. I received a quote for 6 300' loops of 7/8" pex spaced at 16". That seems odd to me, I was under the impression that 1/2" pex spaced 12" would be the norm (2400ft of tubing in a 2400sp ft slab). Less...

    Pole Barn Cost

40x60x16 Last year with 1OH 1 man door was 36k. Was quoted 15k for a 6" floor. I'm currently acquiring materials from menards to do an insulated slab with fiberglass rebar, pex etc, so I'll be much higher on concrete when its all said and done. But use it for mildly recent reference. I'm also in...

Building is up! Beginnings of a shop/mancave

Long time lurker finally with something to contribute! Been a long time coming but finally got a 60x40 put up about a week or so ago. Just wanted the basic structure up for this winter. I had to do a little dirt work and have my fiber relocated as it went through the site so I had them run a...

    Security Cameras

Look for cameras that are ONVIF supported. Its a universal format that allows brand X to work with brand Y. Meaning I can use Axis cameras on a Samsung recorder or any type of combination etc. Lots of cameras or NVRs that have proprietary features will only work on like branded equipment though.

    Security Cameras

I'm going to echo Tmart and say you should up your budget at least a little bit, I work for my local telecom as a security camera specialist. I work with stuff in the $200+ range for POE cameras and I can say I've done a lot of work for customers that have spent sub $800 on a package on amazon...

    Basic shop questions for beginner

I'd like to be able to put a semi or tractor in there if need be is the reason for a 14' door. Also I may have dreams of potentially putting a little loft in the back at some point. I'd probably have the windows up towards the top half of the roll up door to let in some natural light and may...

What made you decide on either 2 post or 4 post lift?

Worked in a shop with 4 lifts, 3 two posts and one 4 post.. the only thing the 4 got used for was oil changes. It had two jacks on it so you could use it for rotates and brakes etc. But still not fun. I'd go for 2 which it looks like you have decided on.

    Shed Hunting, getting started

It's my favorite spring hobby, tips: check south facing slopes, they get more sun so deer tend to bed there. Walk very slow, about 2mph or less, any stick that looks like an antler tip is an antler until its not... lots of times you'll be sure it's not an antler until you get right on it. Check...
