    To Rebar or Not?

    Definitely use rebar. And it's worth renting a concrete cutter and cutting joints the next day and then filling them with sikaflex afterwards...looks way cleaner than forming joints in wet concrete.

    you gotta have control joints to crack, or else cracks go everywhere. i diamond-wheel cut my joints 18 hours after the pour and my 24 x 60 slab is cut into 28 squares. overkill? maybe...but no cracks!

    Well, I built my garage as part of a 3000 sqft addition to my house, (garage is 1300 sqft of that) and I've got two lifts in the garage, hence two stories of use. First, one lift is just to keep my trailer with quads and all camping gear up and out of the way. But I have a 650 lb parallam beam...

    Bill- definitely do the 9x18. I have a 10x18 and I love it. It's also a roll-up instead of a roll-back, so you can save allthat headroom. The company that makes them is named Janus at janusintl.com. on your other stuff: 1) Lighting (what kind, how many, and where to have them) code in CA now...
