    Patio off the garage

I try and refrain from posting my "home improvement" projects on this forum. But this is off my garage and it's sorta garage related so i though i'd share. In chronological order. All i did for research was watch a couple youtube videos and browse these forums. This was a month or so ago...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Hooked up the 220 box for the welders. Anyone recognize that romex, and connector? Just a tad overkill i think. :)

Not the final product yet. Rollers that sit on top didn't come in like they should have today.

2.5" Not mine, it's my place of employment. We recently stuck it in the devlieg and milled it flat. It's also in the other picture i posted above.

What's even more funny is that i'm clamping together 5 pieces of steel. Don't even get me started on tolerances... I may get a photo tomorrow of the finished product. This product is for one of the big 3. :)

Basic welding question I cant find in a book

Everything you need to know has pretty much already been said. Tack everything together first. Even with tacks things still may bend, but for a simple cart you'd be fine. Remember any weld will pull together when it cools. So if you're building a box, you want it to pull in on itself. So you...

That was one of my first "jobs" when i was in highschool. Mostly flowers that would stick in the ground, but i made just about anything. I made metal lawn art out of scrap metal i garbage picked. Sold it at art fairs and street fairs. Even the internet. I made a ton of money doing that. I'm sure...

Port-a-band saw stand. Why didn't I make one of these sooner?

This is a great idea. I'll have to do this.

I guess i've just never seen a bolt on hitch that didn't have a hole for a cotter pin.

What? The 205 and the 256 both have AC... I weld aluminum all the time with it. I admit it's a big learning curve with all the settings the machine has. Huh? That's what cotter pins are for. What if you want to take the ball off again?

Who knew mustang doors were 800lbs.

    Electric flooring heat

Yup, they sure do. My mom put one in at her house in the kitchen and it works great. The cats love to sit on the floor with it turned up. I've found myself laying next to the cats on occasion. I can imagine putting it in a bathroom would be nice. Nothing is worse than stepping out onto a...

Build your own or buy ?

If you build, look up the law. In Michigan i'm pretty sure all you have to do is get it weighed. It's not uncommon for people to build trailers out of old pickup truck beds with an axle.

Then you put it on some blocks? If the vehicle were to come to a stop quickly, or the trailer rear ended that weld could snap clean off sending the gooseneck into the passenger compartment.
