The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I've had one, posted somewhere on here. Was given it and unseized all the compartments. Branded KEEN Tools Sheffield. Not very stable and heavy when full, there is a knack to opening which seldom works. Awkward to find anything in the lower drawers as the uppers get in the way. Very good at...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This Britool socket set case, took what was left of the paint off. Had this set 42 years. Sat in workshops, a van, in cold damp garages and a shed, down in a cellar at my old house. There is no rot, not any sign. Just used Bartoline non caustic paint stripper, scrapers and abrasive paper. Really...

Is anybody still buying modern SK Tools?

Had SK from a local tool supplier in the 70's 80's, bit more than the British tools but very good. Still have some. The Chinese bar let me down first attempt. That's reality

SK now Chinese, off shoring, quality concerns. Pisses people off. Brit industry went the same way, nothing much to celebrate because tools are a bit cheaper.

Is anybody still buying modern SK Tools?

Bought a spare wheel kit for my Mazda, wheel jack sockets and extending 1/2" drive bar. Tried it out for the first time ,at home, the square twisted straight off the bar. Utter junk, replaced by an ancient Britool made in England square and bar T handle. Will outlast me and I won't be left...
