Lets say I was going to change out my meter from a 200amp to a 400 amp... would the utility change out the wire from the pole to the meter to accomodate the other 200 amp possibility? If not then you are saying that the existing drop can handle 400amps, correct?

I left the load side of the meter connected. and took the other end and went to the lug box instead of the house panel. So those leads coming from the meter were like the "feed" wires for the lugs. Then I came out of the lugs with "I believe" #1 copper. Whatever size copper is rated for 200...
