    Stubby Hex Bit Sockets

One piece bits. Pro: Shorter height, fits into tight spots better than two piece. Con: If the bit gets damaged the whole thing has to be replaced. Two piece bits. Pro: Sometimes the bit itself can be replaced if damaged. Snap-On does this for example. Con: Taller height, doesn't fit well in...

    Mystery spark plug sockets

I called Lockit Tools today, and it indeed turns out they bought JJCO some time in the 90's. JJCO was the predecessor company to Lockit Tools. When the company was purchased by the current owner they redesigned the sockets and have been making them ever since. Apparently the previous owner (when...

    best penetrating spray

BG Products makes a penetrating spray called In-Force and so far, it's the best thing I've used. I also like the Kano products, Kroil and AeroKroil. Wurth makes excellent penetrating oil products as well.

    Mystery spark plug sockets

Interesting. I'm going to give them a call on Monday and see if they can give me more information. I love using these sockets. I have the 5/8" and 13/16" Snap-On magnetic spark plug sockets as well and I find myself using these mystery sockets more than the SO mag sockets.

    DMM: New or Used?

At one time I was approaching about 50 meters but I've downsized my DMM arsenal. I'm at probably around 20, 98% of them are Fluke.

    DMM - Di-Log and UEI

I've never heard of Di-Log so I can't comment on their products. UEI on the other hand I have had experience with and they're a great company. Their customer service is the best I've encountered and they make great products. I had a DM383 for several years it's a great meter to learn with, and...

    Mystery spark plug sockets

Do you recall who the vendor was? How much did you pay for them? What was the year? I'm very curious to find more info on these sockets. They're very high quality I'm just surprised I can't find a single shred of info about them. There's a company called Lockit Socket who only makes spark plug...

Who made the Schwinn Combination Wrenches (Made in USA)

I have that exact same Schwinn 1/2" wrench. I've also got the Trek/Wrench Force three wrench set "engineered by Snap-On" 11mm, 12mm, and 16mm. It's a odd set of sizes but I thought they were cool.

    Mystery spark plug sockets

I recently found these spark plug sockets at of all places, a thrift store. I've searched on the internet and haven't been able to find a single word on who the manufacturer is, or what they were originally intended for (other than removing/installing spark plugs). Were they made for a specific...

    DMM: New or Used?

You can get a good used Fluke 87 on eBay for around $100 dollars. Get a Fluke and be done with it, you won't be disappointed. If you want something new take a look at Extech. I'd stay away from the Uni-T meters, they aren't that great in my opinion. The EX505 from Extech is a great meter and...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I picked up a set of these 1/4" drive Torx bit sockets about a year ago. To date it's been one of the best HF tool purchases I've made. The HF solid drawer liner material is another great buy.
