So, a bit of Googling shows that these are likely a lower-end DMM, but:

I've got a Di-Log DL187T "True RMS" DMM, and a UEI DM383 DMM.

Just curious if anyone is familiar with either brand or model, and what they stack up to in current production stuff.

The UEI was left behind by an ADT contractor working at my last employer a decade ago. After 3-4 months of attempting to return it to them, we gave up, and it went into our department's work room. It came home with me a decade ago when the business shuttered.

The Di-Log was discarded by the same employer's metrology department as being inaccurate. They kept the leads, and put the DMM into a pile of stuff to be recycled. I snagged it, and it measures DC voltage as accurately as anything else.

In both cases, I'm also curious about how one tests and/or calibrates these things.

Given what either of these seem to be worth, I'd question if calibration is even worth it, over buying a different meter - a UEI DM383B (current version, I'm assuming) runs about $50-$60 online, and a couple of old auctions for used Di-Log DL187T seem to have ended around $70.

Looks like Di-Log is a UK company.

Anyhow, yeah, interested to hear what people know about either of them and what not.

I've never heard of Di-Log so I can't comment on their products. UEI on the other hand I have had experience with and they're a great company. Their customer service is the best I've encountered and they make great products. I had a DM383 for several years it's a great meter to learn with, and it's pretty durable. Their meters are quite good, not quite on the same level as Fluke or Agilent/Keysight, but similar to Extech, BK Precision, Amprobe, etc. Once I learned how to use a manual ranging multimeter I stepped up and bought a fluke 87. I didn't necessarily need to, I just wanted to.

I have an old UEI meter that I found at a garage sale. I carry it with my electrical tools and it works properly.
