I would call that a fair price. The grinder looks complete including the quench tray. If it runs smooth without weird bearing noises, and the switch feels solid, it is a great setup.
I picked up a Craftsman 150 drill press and the depth gauge looks different from anyone I’ve seen before. From the motor I believe it was made in Nov 1962. The model number on the base—-103— indicates it is King-Seeley.
Has anyone else seen a depth stop like this?
Slowest speed is about 660rpm. Spindle stroke is only 3.5". Spindle bearings are special, AFAIK no longer made. No table lift.
I don't see any reason to pursue a DP-220. :dunno:
I put a MultiTool on a Baldor 7307 as well. Very smooth and quiet running, and enough power for belts over 80 grit. I modified the mount to use 2x42 belts.
My buddy gave me his dad's Gerstner chest that he inherited over 50 years ago. It had been sitting in a corner of his basement all that time and when I mentioned that I need a project, and that chest would be fun, he gave it to me. It's a Model 42 from the 1942-1948 era. It was in rough shape...
The part number in that MP ad is correct but the tray in the pic is definitely not it. Tray should be the 7" long version, not the shorter one shown in the pic.
They are available locally as well as on the auction site. Fairly popular on agricultural equipment.
My buddy gave me one for my VS drill press. My lowest speed is now about 200 rpm
