There are several other rebrands of that Wilton Universal Turret Vise, such as my Sheldon: http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=38214

    Gerstner Chest Refurb

"Dating a Gerstner wooden tool chest involves examining specific hardware, stencils, and structural features to narrow the manufacturing window. For chests made before 1960, collectors primarily use three indicators: the lid restraint (chain vs. hinge), the front panel relief (rectangular...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

I would call that a fair price. The grinder looks complete including the quench tray. If it runs smooth without weird bearing noises, and the switch feels solid, it is a great setup.

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

I picked up a Craftsman 150 drill press and the depth gauge looks different from anyone I’ve seen before. From the motor I believe it was made in Nov 1962. The model number on the base—-103— indicates it is King-Seeley. Has anyone else seen a depth stop like this?

Delta drill presses - what’s a reasonable offer?

But at what cost? A pair of new replacement spindle bearings costs more than a used DP-220....

Delta drill presses - what’s a reasonable offer?

Slowest speed is about 660rpm. Spindle stroke is only 3.5". Spindle bearings are special, AFAIK no longer made. No table lift. I don't see any reason to pursue a DP-220. :dunno:

    Multi Tool...Belt grinder version....awesome....

I put a MultiTool on a Baldor 7307 as well. Very smooth and quiet running, and enough power for belts over 80 grit. I modified the mount to use 2x42 belts.

    Gerstner Chest Refurb

My buddy gave me his dad's Gerstner chest that he inherited over 50 years ago. It had been sitting in a corner of his basement all that time and when I mentioned that I need a project, and that chest would be fun, he gave it to me. It's a Model 42 from the 1942-1948 era. It was in rough shape...

The part number in that MP ad is correct but the tray in the pic is definitely not it. Tray should be the 7" long version, not the shorter one shown in the pic.

    Slowing down my drill press

They are available locally as well as on the auction site. Fairly popular on agricultural equipment. My buddy gave me one for my VS drill press. My lowest speed is now about 200 rpm

    Morgan 45 vise

Use copper covers instead. Brass is too slippery

    Slowing down my drill press

If you changed the motor to a 1140rpm version you would have got 158 rpm without the extra pulley. Nice machining!!

Bench grinder wheel has 20mm and grinder arbor is 3/4, best way to make up difference?

Gap should be .0187" per side, about .5mm. I would use masking tape or cut up a toilet paper tube for shims.

    York bench vise value?

There is usually a number on the side of a York vise that indicates the jaw width in millimeters. A "100" is about 4 inches.
