Yea, I haven't seen him log in here since last year, but I was hoping he had either started a new website or was posting somewhere else. John's restorations are always a joy to follow.
Hey John,
Are you still around bud? Would love to see how the shop has changed over the last few years and where you are at with the robotics and machine rebuilds. Just picked up a V-36 and was able to dredge up your thread I saved years ago knowing I would one day own one
Looks great bud, definitely get your own thread started and post up as many details as you can. These threads are a huge help for those of us still working on our restorations :rocker:
Thanks for the vise suggestions. The DX6 is what I have been pondering for a little while. Once I get everything powered up this will most likely be the direction I move.
Non-stop great ideas in here. Just something as simple as the website for the drawer slides has been a huge plus for me as we build a lot of drawers in our side business.
Wondering if you have a recommendation on what vise to get for a manual Bridgeport mill? It seems most recommend...
"sticks" :lol_hitti:lol_hitti Those are going to fill in nice back there Mike. I like the location choice.
Man, yall must do things different in Illinois, I've never heard of "**** perfect circles" before...
Sorry, I had to do it.
Interesting, I had never really thought of that before either. The options a VFD opens up for speed control and such were pushing me heavily towards the VFD per machine route. If I used the RPC to power everything, would I still need to size the added VFD to the amp/hp requirements of each...
That is a good piece of information that I hadn't really thought of. More machines are in the future as well, so rather than buy a VFD each and every time, it may be worthwhile to just get a better RPC from the start. Thanks.
Loving this thread. I picked up an old Bridgeport mill and a Harrison lathe a few months ago along with a ton of tooling. Following along trying to learn as much as I can before I get power hooked up.
Speaking of power, how are most of yall powering your machines? They came with a...
Roger that, thanks for the info. Anything will be better than the builder-installed wire shelves that we have now haha.
A while back I thought I remember you mentioning something about finding discounted appliances like Wolf, SubZero, etc. Was that purely a job-contact thing or do you have...
Continue to be impressed with your build!
For your closet, did you custom design and build the entire thing? Fiance and I are looking to build something similar for our master closet and I am always looking for advice, do's/dont's, etc.
