Phantom 's right, if you have electrical/AV wires you want to change or add. If you don't have anything you want to change other than insulation, I'd go with the cellulose blown in through holes at the top of the wall. Probably do the same thing through the ceiling.
Not that the name really means much anymore with the small compressors, but I just replaced a 5hp (pre HP lawsuits, so it was really like a 3hp) 60 gal Porter Cable after 18 years. It has a different pump than the TSC one though. Mine blew the pump apart (broke both rods and the crank in...
I just retired two 60 gal compressors. One pump ate itself after 18 years and the other is not big enough for my needs so I stripped them for the tanks. I flipped one and bolted them together by the pump/motor mounts and stood them in the corner of the shop. The new 80gal 10hp compressor...
Way over thinking it here. Pick your brand/color/size/$$ you want and order. With a Bendpak XPR10S set up in the wide configuration I can pick up my 20' long 8500lb crew cab long bed, then I can throw on the 16' long '56 Ford 2 door. After that I can back in the dually and unload heavy ****...
In my first shop I had 3" blanket done during construction and you could tell it made a difference. On my second shop I did 6" roof and walls(same builder, said he would never do it on a roof again, too heavy to stretch out easily). WOW!! I measured 165* on the outside wall and 85* on the...
So that brings us to the big purchase last month. This is something that I've been working towards for a very long time and I was finally able to make it happen this year. The design and layout of the shop and the last one were influenced by the anticipation of this.
A short 50 hour round trip...
Well time flies and all of that. Figured I'd update for any who care. Between work and family there's been lots of time on and time off of getting the shop done, which it never is. I'll pick up where I left off.
Got the lift in and tested. We lined it up so that the right column is in...
Again location helps.
My 36x50, w/ 18x10 door, 10x10 door, one 3070 door, 4/12 pitch, 6" insulation, dirt work, slab with rebar, perimeter beam and interior beams, 900 sqft of driveway, no electrical was $35k built this summer.
Here is their new site. Looks like the styrofoam is left exposed so you could put up your choice of wall and do surface mount electrical. They only list up to 10' tall, but show a few pics of what looks like 14-16' walls.
