The 4 in pipe is not a drain, it runs under the garage and breezeway up into my crawl space. the drain cover is just to keep anything from falling in there and keep mice out. The black box on the wall is just a bracket I made to mount the faucet to keep everything on the warm side of the wall.

Good to know its stronger than I was thinking, just seemed that the weight of the insulation and drywall will be a lot on that splice. Thanks for the link for the screws .
Looking for ideas to strengthen my rafter tie splices before insulating and finishing ceiling. No load other than finishing materials. Thanks

Have a 22x 28 garage with storage trusses, I have 6 inches of insulation in the ceiling. Attic is storage 8 feet down the middle that leaves 7x28 down each side that I could add more insulation. So is it worth blowing more insulation in the sides but not middle section? garage is heated full...
