Where I work we have tons of CFL lights. We are constantly replacing the bulbs. The lights never shut off. We have ballast issues all the time. They started replacing them with LED lights. Some of these lights have been on a year straight and have never been turned off for any reason. No issues...
But in the end will this be worth it? No ballast to go bad. Does the lamp itself have a long life span? If so then you may have spent your money wisely
Fair enough you make some good points. The issue i have is that even the cfl lights are not all that and a bag of chips. They dont like cold weather and i have had issues with the ballast in the past
As for the warranty most are a joke imo so i dont rely on them
We are talking about a $10...
Sorry EL I have to take FastJohnny's side here.
1) I do not live in a hot climate. In fact I can guarantee my lights will never be surrounded by 120f temps. So what the hell would I do that test for? And if it ever got that hot I sure as hell wouldn't be in the barn working on anything.
2) He...
Wouldnt you be better off buying a cheap fixture, taking out the ballast all together and putting an led bulb in its place? I see led bulbs on ebay for $10 a piece.
Do the t8 bulbs put out more light than the led? Plus i just saw some 4' led lights at menards for $39. Those were two bulb jobs too.
Ok confused? Why would i buy t8 lights and then upgrade ballast and bulbs? Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy led and be done with? Not trying to be an idiot just curious as to your train of thought here.
Thx
I just did mine 30x60 and I used this stuff: Endura Seal

So far this is my experience with it. I used 10 gallons. The second 5 gallons I used Gator Grip...
