    39$/sq ft for concrete slab!!!

I did a 24x32 with 12" footer, spreading fill (I bought the fill), compaction, vapor barrier, and rebar for $7k. So I would say yours does seem a bit high. I am in Florida.

Turns out it was the https in the imgur link that was throwing it off. I fixed it. Yeah the red 944 was a nice car. The last impact was a real disappointment. About half of that red car will live on in the new chassis though. I am leaning towards the stain/sealer right now. Added bonus is...

Are the photos I attached not showing up for you? They were there when I posted them, now they don't see to be showing up. I linked to imgur, which seems to have the photos as expected. Not sure whats up.

Man, that sounds like a serious car. I think theres a team up in the north region that runs an E46 with an S54 drivetrain and its insanely fast (also EC). I actually got started doing track days with my E46 330Ci about 10 years ago. Fun car.

I finally got around to starting a build log of the garage I'm building. Its going to be a 24x32 metal garage on a concrete slab. The main purpose is to be a build shop for our Champcar endurance racing team. We started with a Porsche 944 back in 2012 and after a wreck at Sebring late last...

Carolina carport garage - permitting - palm beach county, fl

I did look into some red steel suppliers and they were on the other of twice the price for roughly the same size building. I did get a hold of a rep from eversafe who claimed the increase in rating was mostly the brands/ratings they specd for hardware like brackets, windows, doors, screws, etc...

Unfortunately i dont know anyone personally with a metal garage. They are all over the place up here, but the people i know here just dont overlap with the people that have them. I reached out to see if anyone knew anyone that did. I talked to one sales rep so far and asked about the...

They do provide drawings, but not until after you purchase. So there would be no way of comparing the 150 to the 180.

Did the engineered drawings include the slab? Or do they expect you to have an engineer do separate plans for a slab based on the weight of the building?

I would prefer overhead. I am not 100% set on the Carolina. I am also looking into a system called Versatube, which would allow me to spec my own roof (shingles, not metal), my own siding (hardiboard or T1-11), and my own 16x8 garage door (same one as my house, which will match much better)...

I will continue researching. I was planning on ordering from Alan's Factory Direct, which I believe is a retailer for Carolina Carport. I'm not married to that brand though. I am also considering a few other options, some of which make no distinction between cost for 150 to 180. At this...

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, i am in the farms, zoned Ag. Lots of metal buildings out here. Not my preference asthetically but the price is right. As for the code, I agree, I would pay the additional for 180mph construction, but its not clear the construction is any different for the extra...

Hey all, I'm new here and I'm looking to build a garage in Southeast Florida, and I have a few questions I'm hoping someone with experience can answer. I am looking at the Carolina Carport type metal garages in something like 24'x31'. For the CC, the default wind load rating is...
