WTB: MAC 1/4" 6-point sockets to complete set

I know this is probably a needle in a haystack, but looking for a few sockets to complete a used 6-point set I recently received. Metric: -shallow 10mm Standard: -shallow 9/32" -deep 3/16" I believe the ratchet I'm looking for is an MR5 (or MR5K, not sure the difference) which I'm going to...

I need a Husky 24203 ratchet rebuild kit

Bumping this up, in need of a rebuild kit for a Husky 24203, don't want to exchange it for the **** they have at HD now. Looked on the 'bay for Proto and Stanley parts and can't really find anything. SK looks like it may be similar.

    Why aren't ratcheting wrenches 6pt?

I'd rather use my fingers than those; the double offset makes them completely un-usable, IMO.

New to me 70's era Craftsman box; few questions

I was able to sneak an angled pick in behind the lock which allowed me to rotate it with enough pressure to depress the pin. That is something I never want to do again.

New to me 70's era Craftsman box; few questions

I just spoke with an online locksmith and gave them the code information that Waterloo gave me...he said that the information they are providing is a double sided key and my lock is for a single sided key. That's definitely how it comes out, but I just can't depress the spring loaded mechanism...

New to me 70's era Craftsman box; few questions

Hey gents, I just picked up my first box, a 1974 Craftsman. Here's a shot from the seller, before I picked it up and cleaned it up a bit: Now regarding my questions. Does anyone have any info about these older Craftsman boxes? I can't seem to find a catalog that has the model numbers or...

How to store X beams effectively

Have you ever taken a physics class? I thought it was implied but combine the two equations. Torque = force x distance. Force = pressure x area. You can generate as much force as you want but transferring that force to a bolt is where it counts. And of course the companies are going to say...

How to store X beams effectively

Uhh...what? Torque = force x distance. In your definition of "leverage", what is length/distance? Assuming you mean the correct equation for torque, yes, of course surface area matters. You can apply way more force to a knifes handle than the blade. Why? Force = area x pressure. In other...

Crow's feet. When do they come in handy?

Honestly, this is what I first thought of as I clicked this thread. In my experience (not a professional wrencher, but do work on light aircraft) there is a very limited time when you may need a crows foot. Most times you can get by without them and a flare wrench or a u-joint, or something...
