I haven't posted in a long time, but I finally plumbed in my HF air compressor tank drain. I had to order fittings and tubing to mate it to my machine.
I don't really understand why the 'English standard' kit came with metric tubing? It only took 6 months to complete a 30 minute job, but...
Long time since my last post.....I spent the evening trying to manually roll up my power window on my Mercury Mountaineer.
A year or so ago I replaced the driver's side window switch because the passenger side would not function properly. I opted for CCS version; Cheap Chinese Sheet. Flash...
Fiasco of a weekend helping clear out stuff from an estate. It included a stuck tractor, lots of juicy mud, multiple silly mistakes and a broken exhaust 🙄. Most importantly no one was hurt and everything was moved!
.
I started Sunday off early moving the new truck project into storage. Then I worked on fabricating a subframe for the crane install on Margaret (1962 C750). It is a 3x3x0.375 square tube structure..... It was really heavy! I welded it all out, painted it, lifted the crane and weaseled it into...
So far nada this weekend. I spent Saturday playing with my kids and enjoyed relaxing for a change. I did some heavy manipulating with some Play-Doh, enjoyed a nap or two, and played toys. My favorite was the peach pie with ice cream my daughter whipped up in Minnie's playhouse. 👍😁
I dropped off some goodies from my stop at the tractor store. The oil dry changed and I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. It is also more money for a smaller amount. $7.49 plus tax for 33 pounds. I thought it used to be 50lbs for a few pennies less. Cheapest place to buy oil dry or cheap...
No in situations like this it isn't adjustable, but I may try to shoe horn in a small oring under the existing seal. The groove is too wide or too deep for the seal I selected. If I'm feeling really adventurous I could cut a new seal groove in the gland. Easiest answer is to purchase the...
I fought with the auto drain on the compressor. It leaked and required a fitting to be turned/faced off in the lathe. The threads were not cut correctly and it was bottoming before sealing on the threads. It was a little frustrating to figure out. 🤔
I think you are right! It's an interesting situation. I might try to space out shim the existing seal, but it would be ideal if I could just pop the right one on. Seals are sometimes a mystery to me 🤔
I disassembled the gland on the side shift cylinder of Johnny#5 (again). It had a slow leak that was annoying me. I purchased a new profiled seal to replace the original O-ring with backer seal on the gland. During the original rebuild I did not order the correct replacement.
In the...
I pulled my truck in for the first time in months. It was weird. I almost have things organized enough so I can walk entirely around it comfortably..... Now I need to start unloading all the new stuff I brought home that will be in my way. Hmm the struggle is real 🙄🤣
The holidays welcomed a nice vacation between Christmas and New Years. I haven't gotten much garage time since. Yesterday, I organized the pile and worked on an old Ford display sign. I think it was for Duraspark ignition parts, but could be wrong?
I need to make more room in my overly...
I looked around and found my little buddy heater and a backup propane tank. I like to this little heater handy for winter driving.
I had to kick the snow out of the way to the shop, but I didn't go overboard with it. Just a small foot path will do. I guess it's supposed to be 55°F next...
I found the extension cord and plugged in the block heater on the PowerStroke. I also located my stash of Power Service diesel fuel additive. This was the first does of the year.
When she was younger cranking out starts in 5-10 °F weather was slow, but still manageable. We're talking in...
