Floor Epoxy job didn't go so well...

Any pictures of the screwed up floor? Maybe its not as bad as you think. I made a few mistakes on my floor and posted a thread of all the problems hopefully to save someone elses ***, but the funny thing is that neighbors look at the floor and think its a perfect & great job -- of course I know...

    Homemade spiked shoes

I'm just a cheap *** and it was a last minute decision, thats why I made my own ( I spent the $20 on beer). They worked fine and were plenty sturdy for me BUT have to agree that you should just buy a real pair in ADVANCE, the thought of falling on a freshly epoxied floor is horrific in the...

    Homemade spiked shoes

I made my own. Cost was a box of drywall screws, plywood was free. They are not pretty but they worked great! To attach them I drove drywall screws from inside the shoes, just a few will do the trick.

    EpoxyMaster, aka Costco brand

Yeah. I wanted an even coverage and didnt want to run out. It was my first time doing this so I had no idea how far the chips would last to get the coverage I needed. Plus I was also done pretty darn quickly and if you are using 100% epoxy the biggest issue is that it sets up fast so your...

    EpoxyMaster, aka Costco brand

Added some pictures from my garage floor. As you can see I used a lot of chips -- I like that look. I also took the time to do the sides which really made it look complete.

Floor Epoxy job didn't go so well...

Wow you really messed this one up. Sometimes, you have to serve as a warning to others. Since your garage floor now looks like hell, I wonder if a shot blaster would remove the epoxy?

Some basic floor epoxy job questions

My 2 cents: - buy or make some spiked shoes so you can work with larger sections. - cut and paint sides and trim ...the small stuff 1st. Just get it out of the way PLUS you get experience working with epoxy on a small scale vs. mixing a bucket of the stuff and all hell breaks loose.

Wet floor first before etching with muriatic acid?

Definetly use a watering can. I wouldnt want to be pressurizing acid -- this just seems like a real bad idea. Also I assume you are dilluting this stuff first?

    Epoxy Needed

I used the epoxy master product from costco -- results were awesome. Tough looking stuff vs. the water base junk. No clear coat needed. Setup time is short so have a plan -- read my other post with my tips regardless of which epoxy you go with.

    Good info re Epoxy Master

You do not need a clear coat with this stuff. My garage looks like glass using Epoxy Master. A friend who used the waterbased stuff needed a clear coat so I repeat, epoxy master is a high gloss product no clear coat needed.

    Good info re Epoxy Master

Yeah I just used that stuff and am VERY happy with it. I cant see how dog pee or anything else for that matter can wreck the floor, this stuff is pretty tough. Remember prices are negotiable so you can probably get a better price than $295 if you simply ask, try starting with the costco price...

    EpoxyMaster, aka Costco brand

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. After searching around I decided to go with the EpoxyMaster from Costco. A friend of mine used a water based epoxy and a top coat ( H&C brand ) and I thought it looked good. However, the results I got with 100% epoxy ( Epoxymaster) is just awesome and much, much...
