I've just been using hard hockey pucks on top of the rubber blocks, seems to work OK.

Thanks for the great tip. I always found it difficult plugging the quick disconnects into the pump, I guess I now know why :)

Don't forget that there is a second safety device, the hydraulic cylinders themselves. I read a few pages back that someone left the car on the jack overnight without the safety legs on and it hadn't budged from it's position. So if the leg fails then I'm sure the hydraulic cylinder would hold.
