    The Abrasive Blasting Resource Thread

For the raw power over the syphon type. I have a pressure cabinet and I will admit, it spoils me. A syphon cabinet is fine but for brute power for stripping old paint and corrosion, nothing beats the pressure cabinet.

    Storm Shelter Accessories

Thanks guys, lots of great suggestions. Like I mentioned in my OP, I do have a DC TV with an external antenna. I also have the toilet situation covered with the needed extras. I have a couple of battery lanterns, DC fan, and as soon as a cable shows up, a surveillance camera on top of the...

    Storm Shelter Accessories

How many of you have storm shelters? What do you put in your storm shelter? This is a loaded question to say the least. Back in 2010, I went through a tornado here in Oklahoma. Ya, imagine that..... Needless to say I rode out the tornado in a closet and I survived. In past years, My wife and I...

Gas powered air compressor. Harbor Freight

Good luck. For the performance you get, the price is good. I looked at many different gas air compressors from cheap to expensive and kept coming back to the Northstar compressor. I use mine to run my pressure blast cabinet and even at 25CFM, its still not enough but it gets the job done. I put...

Gas powered air compressor. Harbor Freight

If you do get a gas powered air compressor, buy an inductive type hour meter so you can keep track of actual runtime for maintenance scheduling. The Northern Tool compressor was intended to be wired in to the trucks battery system for the electric start so I mounted a lawn tractor battery to the...

Gas powered air compressor. Harbor Freight

A couple years ago I was on the same quest. I looked at all the readily available gas powered compressors. The ones offered by HF had horrible reviews. I ended up buying the Northstar 30 gal 25CFM from Northern Tool. It was a little more but it had the best output for the money and it does have...

Should I put an old stove/oven in my shop?

I bought a used wall oven for my powder coating habit. I also use it for baking bolts prior to replating, heating bearings, and baking off old paint. I use it all the time. I also have a small countertop oven for small jobs.

    Building garage cabinets

I built mine from scratch. Cabinet grade plywood, 1x2 stock, and 2x4 stock. All I used was a nail gun, tablesaw, router, and a sander. total cost was about 700.00.

Epoxy Flooring - How is yours holding up?

My floor was applied by The Garage Experts over 3 years ago. It still looks new. There are a couple of chips in it from me dropping pieces of metal but overall it has held up very well. I love my floor!!!!!! Disregard the date stamp...

Gas Powered Air Compressor Water Removal

I've been looking at transmission oil coolers on Ebay. Some I have seen come with #10AN ports. Why couldn't I find one that I could mount to the screen portion of the belt guard and forego an extra fan? The rough area of the screen is 15x15. I don't know if that would provide enough cooling...

Gas Powered Air Compressor Water Removal

Guys, I have been doing allot of reading here and watching videos on Youtube on DIY compressor coolers. What I've seen so far if aftercooler discussions on various size electric powered air compressors. I have the Northstar 30 gallon 24CFM gas powered air compressor from Northern Tool. I bought...

    Side chest like this one?

I think I bought the last two of those side boxes in Sears inventory. After I got these two, I went looking for another and none to be found.

    Heating garage questions

I'm in OKC and I too work allot in my garage in the Winter. I tried several different methods for heat and the one I use is a 23K kerosene heater. Its silent and virtually no smell. The round 23K kerosene heaters are approved for temporary indoor heating. The heater heats my garage up fairly...

Protective film for your sandblast cabinet. What do you use?

I had a piece of glass cut for my pressure cabinet window. So far so good. I need to do that for my little syphon cabinet.
