No problem, I should have been less hard.

What is IF? Your way of saving face? I previously asked for clarification on surge protectors, and I started this thread. If someone puts a hole in your comment, no need to make a childish comment to show you did not know the correct answer. Thanks again to wyliesdiesels for his expertise and...

    No ground outlet

OK, all good to know information. Anything sensitive that really needs a surge protector, I will make sure it is on a properly grounded outlet. Anything ungrounded, I will install GFCI's and only plug in stuff that is either not sensitive or not expensive if it gets blown., like fans, lights...

    No ground outlet

To me a surge suppressor is supposed to save delicate equipment from electrical spikes or surges when there are power failures, or when the power flickers. So how does this translate to "There would only be protection between hot and neutral. Nothing between hot - grd or neutral to grd." I...

    No ground outlet

What does this mean in layman terms?

    No ground outlet

Surge arrestor. I have an APC, 10 foot cord and decent features, I would say medium duty. Plugged into a GFCI outlet that does not have a ground. It will work as a power bar, but the surge arrestor protection is lost, is that what you are saying?

    No ground outlet

I used a 3 light tester and they have typically been quite reliable for testing outlets

My walls are sometimes sheetrock, otherwise plaster, on lathe and a sub panel of 1" think wood. Many walls have shredded newspaper for insulation. Like I stated at the outset, I would add a wire if it was not very complicated.

At least a dozen, why? BTW, all my ungrounded outlets are 3 prong, just no ground wire connection.

Thanks to all, I just wanted to be sure it would be safe.

"however so equipment plugged into those outlets will still not have a ground pathway if there's internal fault." OK, so what does this mean regarding safety for people and the equipment.

    No ground outlet

I am sure this has been discussed, but I did some searches and could not find my exact situation. I have a very old house. I would say about a third of the outlets are 2 wire and no ground. In some instances, it is possible to run a ground to the outlet. Where it is not easy without ripping out...

    LED Bulbs Internet-Who?

I had bought a box (16 0r 20 bulbs) of Amazon Basics bulbs. Out of 8-9 put into use, 2 of them started having flickering problem and 1 just didn't work in about a year's time. I complained to Amazon and they gave me a credit for about half the value of the box. Strange as I rarely have issues...

    Vise Info Thread

The pitting on it is incredible, it looks like it spent years at the bottom of the sea. If it was mine, I would keep it as a user, just to respect all that it has been through. Nice find.

I am going broke buying duplicates of tools

Not to be offensive but..."I have at least three hammers"...are you kidding me? I have at least 10 claw hammers, then add many ball peen, more dead blow, a few sledgehammers, brass head, copper head, and other oddball brick and steel work...and you know what the problem is, I can never find them...
