Yeah I reread my first post and it's not real clear. The horizontal beam isn't the problem. Its the virtical post that supports that beam in the middle of the floor.

Thanks for the input. I know I know pics are coming. If I could maybe remove the one in the middle and replace it with two so that the middle of the floor was open that might work. Having that support in the middle is a huge pain.
