    Radiant Slab Questions

I am planning on setting up my in slab radiant heat and have some questions prior to purchasing parts. Is there an advantage of slab sensor vs thermostat air temperature regulating for my application? What is an Outdoor Reset? From what I understand "IT" (not sure what it is) takes into...

Lingering Smell - My Experiences, but still questions

My “proof” to my installer that the floor smelled was me cutting away (knife, then cold chisel) part of the floor coating and placing it in a small glass mason jar. A few seconds in the mason jar proved the smell to be coming from the floor as the small jar held that smell very strong. In the...

A few questions before I hire an epoxy floor professional

I noticed it right away, it never went away, did go down a lot but 9 months later it is still here. Maxes out a VOC meter I bought on Amazon. There was no smell prior to the floor install.

A few questions before I hire an epoxy floor professional

I am on long island, currently having problems with VOCs and Offgassing… so I will not recommend my company but it is not the one you listed. I paid $7/ft, full grind, primer coat, base coat with full flakes, and two tops coats of polyaspartic. The first coat wasn’t smooth enough for me so they...

Used Air Compressor, odd color oil...

Thanks for the replies everyone. The last pic is from me spraying brake cleaner into the fill hole to try and get it as clean as possible in there. When I first opened the drain a small amount of water did come out but not too much. I am hoping it is some “green” oil, but either way I will be...

    Suggestions / recommendations for 2-post lift brands/models

With the crazy cost of lifts right now, I found Rotary, although expensive, to not be that much more then others… let’s say $5000 vs $6500 I paid the extra money for the known quality. I prefer asymmetric lifts personally, and also I prefer overhead hydraulics.

Lift Extensions, what steel to use to make my own?

Thanks everyone, I will be calling my local supplier as I don't have enough of the scraps that are close in size. I need 46" of 2.25" dia cold rolled, I will see what he has in stock. I plan to cut on the horizontal bandsaw, face both sides to length, then put it in the CNC lathe to turn down...

Lift Extensions, what steel to use to make my own?

wow that's a great price! I see them on eBay for $339 plus tax which comes to about $370, my rotary dealer who I bought the lift from quoted me $375 plus tax... Derek Weaver online is $409. I'm thinking that the recent price increase of everything raised the price of these simple parts as well.

Lift Extensions, what steel to use to make my own?

It is 2.25" solid round stock. I have a huge assortment of material cutoffs here at work and we have connections to metal supply houses that can supply me with shorts as needed. I think it'll be about $50-75 if I need to buy from a local place. edited to the proper size, 1.5" is the peg size...

Lift Extensions, what steel to use to make my own?

The $400 price tag for the OEMs and the desire to use my machines is why I want to make my own. I get that the OEM ones are the easiest, but these seem like a really simple lathe project.

Can you request for a building inspector to come to your property?

In my town, the building inspector does not inspect much, including building location. That is all done by the surveyor and the town wants no part of it. I asked my inspector "when you do check if I am building it too tall?" he said that he doesn't do that, the surveyor does. Goodluck.

Lift Extensions, what steel to use to make my own?

Hi all, I am a high school technology teacher (think old industrial arts) I have access and knowledge of use of manual mills and lathes as well as CNC mills and CNC lathes. I would like to make my own lift extension adapters for my Rotary SPOA10 Trio Lift. I have the exact specifications for...

LG Mini Split Install question (regarding vac, pressure test, charging)

If I recall what I did was hook up my micron gauge to one side and my vacuum to the other. I vacced it down and made sure it was good then let the refrigerant out and went on my way.
