Yes, I just said that yesterday: I had no idea that 0.25/ft was a standard, even after having four garages in my lifetime. This is the first one that isn't dead flat, and I grew up in MA where you'd think it'd be common to drain snowmelt. (My first garage was built in 1974.)
Thanks for all the replies. I had no idea that 0.25/ft was a standard. This is the first garage of mine out of four that has this. I grew up in MA where you'd think it'd be common for snow melt, but no one I know has ever mentioned it..
I might dig it out and repour, but my wife and I were...
Because of where I measured the heights, I think it's about a 5" difference in 21'. Anything pushed against the back wall has a significant tilt, and when testing the toolbox drawers with the most weight would open by themselves. If feels like anything there that's unwedged is going to fall...
I looked up the permits and the garage was built in 1980. I haven't tried to figure out how thick the floor is yet.
I've considered tearing the floor out, but I'm weary after tearing out a 12x20 patio a few years back (at another house I owned) and finding the worst combination of rebar/fakebar...
Yeah that's what I'll do at first, but that means anything on wheels will have an unlevel surface. Maybe it won't end up being as big of an issue as I think it will, but what I have in there now is unfortunately saying something different.
Yeah, my first thought was "Well I guess that's so washwater drains easy, but is that much necessary?" (It very rarely snows here so meltwater wouldn't be an issue).
My garage is 21.5'w x 21.5'd x 8'h, and it's 4.5" lower at the door than it is at the back wall. It was built this way on purpose in the 80s and I have no idea why.
My goal is to make the garage into a workshop and eventually house a car I'll be working on. I'd like to keep the main part of the...
I found this table in a YouTube video and all searches are coming up blank. It looks like a collapsible table base, but I can'f find reference to it anywhere.
Anyone know what this is?
This'll probably be a winter project, so nothing yet. The idea is to create one concrete/rebar wall to divide the basement, add some ventilation, and call it a day. I might do a ceiling if I can figure out how.
Unfortunately our yard isn't big enough for a container. Even if there was room and...
Wow, thanks for all the replies!
Size: about 8'x15'
I did plan on making a steel roof to prevent cuts into the ceiling to get in. I've been pricing out in-swing vault doors, too.
What it's for: It'll be mostly a gun room, and also a place to work on them and do some reloading tasks. It'll be...
I'd like to build a vault in my man cave / garage. I have no idea how to go about building the walls in an existing structure to create something like this.
I figure I'd need rebar reinforced concrete walls at the very least. Can anyone point me to some resources or offer any tips about how to...
