    Vintage Craftsman Grinder Find!

I love those Cman grinders, expecially the power bronze ones. Great find!!!!! Softail, I grew up in Vista and keep an eye on the San Diego CL. Last summer a similar grinder (actually in better shape) was in Carlsbad for $25. Keep an eye out. I feel lucky to have a 1/2 HP power bronze I got for...

    Free to me giant compressor.

First off....I live in Highlands Ranch also so I know it is one of those big planned communities with lots of covenants and restirctions and people who own many sets of golf clubs but not even one hammer. You are pretty damn lucky to make a find there!!!! So neighbor, a great big "you ****"!!!

    FINALLY got a bench grinder

Nice find. I love those old cman block grinders. I grew up using them and they are such a good grinder for the money.

    Cman 100 DP handles

I found a decent Craftsman 100 bench top DP for cheap. Works good and smooth. Only issue is the PO let it fall onto it's side at some point and the original handles (still have them) all broke off at the threads. I'm thinking of just shortening them up and threading what is left on the original...

    Craftsman Speed Reducer attachment

To help date this, it is the 50s power bronze in color and was with a bunch of other 50s tools.

    Craftsman Speed Reducer attachment

At first I thought this was a tapping head but looking up the model 665.256560 I came across info it is a speed reducer for a drill. Anyone recognize it? Are there parts missing? I just wanted to share and see if anyone had any info on it.

Dave, Don't forget, there is still that small lathe by Companion where you got the tool chest. I would call that a cute lathe. I bet it would go for less than $50. I think Companion was a brand used by Sears along with Craftsman but for lower quality than Craftsman.

Vintage Craftsman Machinist Box - What's it Worth?

I'm jealous. I've been keeping an eye out for one of those and that is a real nice one from the 50s. I keep hoping something like that will pop on the local CL here in Denver. I've finally collected enough good machinist tools (micrometers, etc) that I want a separate box for them.

That toolbox is cleaning up nicely!!! If you put a coat of good wax on it after the cleaning it will keep new gunk from getting stuck on it.
