At first I thought this was a tapping head but looking up the model 665.256560 I came across info it is a speed reducer for a drill.

Anyone recognize it? Are there parts missing?

I just wanted to share and see if anyone had any info on it.

I think this might have been sold by Craftsman awhile back before the days of VSR drills, etc.

I have one very similar to yours, and is marked "Supreme", with a patent number of 2780944 on it. Yours looks complete, except for the bit. I have never used mine, so I would check google patents, and see what info. they have, on it.

Just joined up tonight and was looking for some info on some of my Pa's old tools I have been going through. Found a small combo "weekender" set and had never seen a Speed Reducer attachment but found it right away. Hello to everyone and glad to be aboard.

I passed one up at an estate sale last week. I was unable to locate the chuck for it. It seemed like kind of a bulky device to add to a drill.
