I had a compression fitting years ago on a sink line that just wouldn't tighten, and eventually got tightened with a gearwrench box end, that lived there then several years.

I agree that you can't have too many files, but really depends on your needs. I do hvac and industrial type mechanical work, and I find 90% of the time I reach for a ******* cut half round 8 inch, or a six inches triangle, despite a whole box full of files in the truck.
