Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

For sure. My mom worked for ll bean for 15 years, five of which was in their warranty department and you’re 100% correct people abused the system. Big difference in my view is that the mark up isn’t enough to pay for three replacements in the future. Haha

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

This is not true at all. I just got a new set of metric snap on sockets by filing a claim in their website. Totally no questions asked. I even told them I inherited them from my dad. Which is true. They shipped them for free and I got them 3 days after I submitted the claim on the website. Snap...

KoKen Z Series / Zeal - New Ratchets

I feel like I gotta chime in on the Koken ratchets. I’ve got three snap on ratchets: my first was an F80, next was an fhlf80 (my go to), next was a thlf72. I’m an engineer by trade, not a pro mechanic, but I’m working with the tools on my project Land Cruiser, dirtbikes or tractor basically...

Wood Chisels - General Use - Who Makes a Quality Product These Days?

Narex are really pretty nice for the price, but if all you’re doing is a single door installation just go buy one from a hardware store. Also, chisel sharpeness isn’t something id necessarily be buying. When I’m looking at chisels it’s all about how they hold an edge. Better off learning to...

    Icon Ratchets?

The half inch long flex head had a pretty floppy head. Easily fixed with a hammer to tighten up the fork. The ratcheting action is not as nice as a tool truck ratchet, but for what I use a half inch for it’s fine.

    Tools of Japan

Dear Japanese tool nerds - I’m looking to upgrade my inverted flare tool (basic parts store tool junk) and I’m wondering if any of you have found any interesting and well priced alternatives abroad?

    Bosch?

I’ve got a Bosch 4.5” angle grinder, big corded drill, 18v drill/impact combo. All the stuff has been great. A story about their warranty: I dropped the grinder and cracked the plastic. I sent them a warranty claim with a picture. They mailed me the new part - I had that thing back up in and...

    Band saw for novice

What do you have for tools currently? My most commonly used woodworking machine is without a doubt the table saw. I’d invest there first unless you’re trying to do scroll work/curves. Even then I’d recommend hand tools over a cheap band saw. It’s hard to advise without understanding what your...

Where to buy snap on best deal without a tool truck?

I’ve bought snap on stuff from various drivers by looking them up in the yellow pages or online. They were all more than happy to deal with me. I had to drive to them. Edit: I’d suggest buying from the truck or website. Get an email receipt in case you need to warranty ever. 2nd hand won’t get...

    Air Compressor drier

I put an Ac condenser between the pump and tank. I put the hot side in top, bottom is cooled air. After the exit at the lowest point I put in a water trap. Works mint. I very rarely get any water out of the tank when I drain it.
