    Floor Drain

True, all the stuff that goes down stormdrains doesn't get treated and ends up somewhere and indirectly recharges the aquifer. In my Orange County example, the treated wastewater (cleaned at a state of the art plant not comparable to others around the country), the water is distributed...

    Floor Drain

Definitely not unless you're in Orange County, CA. Wastewater treatment plants do not produce drinkable water. The water going down the drain may end up watering plants or putting out fires.

DIY dessicant air filter, sand blaster, and paint booth

I like your pressure blaster. I am dealing with a siphon feed blaster right now. The sand pickup is terrible. I have a clear hose for the sand to travel through, and I can see it going empty then full, empty then full, over and over. Really slows down the process. What pressure do you use and...

    Partition Curtains

I think a cross draft booth would be the most effective and simple to set up. It is the most efficient because you would only need one fan and one duct going straight through the roof. Every time air moves through a filter, through a duct, or through a bend in a duct, it suffers pressure loss...

    Partition Curtains

PM sent. Thanks sberry. I have seen that article and it helped me to get an idea of what a booth needs to work well. However it does not go into any OSHA or NFPA requirements and it does not help you to figure out paint arrestor, fan or duct sizing. Here is the best info I've found so far...

    Partition Curtains

James (Roark Ind.), thanks for answering my question. Sorry Brian41; I glanced at James' picture which reappeared when you quoted him and that's why I was calling on you. My mistake. James, I will be doing my painting in a corner, so I think the two sided setup would be ideal, like the ones...

    Partition Curtains

Brian41, would OSHA approve of a booth that uses curtain walls? I have no problem with it since I'm just doing this for personal use, but supposing someone had an industrial setup that used curtain walls...I thought the booth had to be made out of non-flammable materials.

    2" Conduit Elbows?

I'm a *******. It being Home Depot, I subconsciously assumed it was like the Rigid brand. I thought the rigid conduit connected with threaded couplings. Oh well, I learned something.

    2" Conduit Elbows?

I guess the concern with silicone is that it's not compatible with all materials. Maybe it can degrade the wire insulation. I do hate that wire pulling lube though. So messy, can't get it off your hands without washing with soap and water. Makes it hard to handle material. I'm just writing back...

    Partition Curtains

I really like sberry's idea for having the curtains roll up like some blinds. How thick are those plastic sheets? This is not my booth. I found it on a paint booth vendor's website and I really liked the idea. Those curtain walls are very expensive though. I inquired about the price last year...

    2" Conduit Elbows?

Good to know. Tremendous help. Thanks guys. Helps me because I already have an empty 1" EMT conduit coming out of my panel. I thought I was going to have to tear open the wall and put in bigger EMT.

    Welding in patch panels

I read the thread about using clecos on the ChevyTrucks forum. Looks good. I would like to get some cleco fasteners and use them the same way. I think instead of making those plugs myself, I will just buy #10 washers. If there's a good reason why he's making the plugs himself (maybe the washers...

    2" Conduit Elbows?

20 horsepower 3 phase. The motor plate says it draws 50.9A at 220V. I could probably use 6 gauge wire but I have 120/208V service, so, already a tad low on voltage. The 4 gauge wire should have a negligible voltage drop for that current and that length of run. A very experienced air compressor...

Cool. Thanks Jason. Just the info I was looking for.

    pvc conduit

Thanks VHF, I'm just making some observations here: 1. The transformer is grounded to the earth just like the building is. I don't think there is a metallic ground conductor that "bonds" the building to the transformer. I think the earth provides that link (maybe if the transformer is very...
