Wilton Baby, Wilton 4" Pat Pen, Craftsman/Reed 5184 Vises

I'm in the middle of completely reorganizing my shop, the shelf these vises were on got moved and I realized they've sat for several years. These are the last vises I have left that aren't users aside from one or two with sentimental value. I will be listing a bunch of parts and a couple of...

Attn Woodworkers: Stanley Planes + Hardware, Braces, Etc

For a few years my wife had an eBay business selling a mix of tools and fly fishing stuff since I could help her with values, condition, etc. It finally got to the point the time and effort didn't make sense so she stopped adding anything and is letting things sell off so she can close the...

    Budget Plasma Cutters: Primeweld Cut60?

A while back I recommended Primeweld to the guy who sits across from me....he bought the TIG 225X then the CUT60 and absolutely loves both. We've got Hypertherm at work, but I'm going to buy a CUT60 when I get around to it. The week he got the CUT60 he was sending me pics of cuts on some...

    Cooling upstairs bedrooms

There are mini-splits made for multiple zones, so that's what I would look at first. Each bedroom would have their own air handler and controls. We added a mini-split to the loft in our house and it made a huge difference in the overall cooling of the house, and a reasonable improvement in...

Wilton C1, Jan 1969 Original Paint Original Stickers

I've had this vise for quite a few years, but I'm really not a vise collector, and I just can't bring myself to use a vintage vise with original paint and stickers. I rescued it from a woodworker, and you can see some dried wood glue on it. I gave it the lightest of cleanings, lubed everything...

    Spot welder breaker size?

Without knowing more about the OP's setup there really isn't any way to give more specific advice. We would need to know the wire size and type, length of run (probably not a factor, but just to be safe) and then the outlet/plug setup intended. I was just pointing out that the blanket...

Grinder, Hisey 1hp 3ph too big for home use?

Oh man, that's hard to look at. I know electric motor shops make that sort of repair regularly (or at least they used to) but it won't be cheap. I've read where they bore a hole in the broken stub and make a stepped insert to add a new section to it, but that's involved. In many cases it's...

    Spot welder breaker size?

Not necessarily when it comes to welders. NEC Article 630 covers the topic and allows for conductors to be generally undersized for a given breaker size when compared to normal residential wiring.

Bump...found some thick washers to go along with it.

Wilton Bullet Vise date stamping. show yours with or without EXP on slide

That era C2 will normally have a handle which is 11/16" diameter. That's actually probably the most common diameter for any Wilton bullet...most of the 4" and 4.5" vises had that size as did the earlier C2s for sure. Finding 11/16" diameter stock can be a pain. I get 1144 steel in .75"...

Wilton Bullet Vise date stamping. show yours with or without EXP on slide

I did miss that! Okay, I read through the posts and made some notes. I'm going to re-read them and make sure I've got things squared away so I can make an edit to my site. Something occurred to me as I read through those posts was that there are a LOT of changes noted such as the first year...

Wilton Bullet Vise date stamping. show yours with or without EXP on slide

I'm not on here very often now so I must have missed that. Is there one or maybe two spots it's summarized so I can make sure I've got the references correct etc and give credit where it's due? I've got a bit of old Wilton literature I'll have to look at as well...just out of curiosity.
